Gvantsa Khizanishvili holds a Bachelors degree in medicine and currently is a candidate of Masters degree of public health, concentration on health promotion and policy at the University of Missouri-Columbia. Gvantsa became a member of YouAct in 2007 and since that time she is actively involved in youth SRHR and advocacy activities on national, regional and international level. As a member of YouAct, Gvantsa was involved in organizing and facilitating Study Session on drafting Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights Charter in cooperation with The Council of Europe's Directorate of Youth and Sport in Strasbourg 6-13 July 2008. Also participated in project “Zoom in!" the European Commission funded project designed to raise awareness among young Europeans (aged 12-17) of sexual and reproductive health and rights issues affecting young people in developing countries and she participated in many other activates during those years.
Gvantsa is interested in family planning, reproductive health and rights, including HIV and STD prevention, women’s health, determinants of HIV/AIDS and STD risk and in future she intends to continue her research and studies in field of public health. She likes photography, ballet and classic music. She plays soccer, loves to ski and joined ultimate frisbee team in Columbia. Recently discovered her new hobby of movie making. She lives in Columbia, Missouri at the moment and enjoys her studies of public health.
