Destruction of the Temple

The Jewish-Roman War and the destruction of the Temple
Because of the destruction of the Temple, decentralization of ritual practice took place; there was no longer a one primary locus of worship for Jews and Christians, which would have led to greater emphasis on church and synagogue life.
The Lack of a major common place of worship differentiated Christian identity farther away from Jewish beliefs. Jewish Christians looked elsewhere for cohesion and authority.
