In the discovery of the "New World," europeans traveled to the Western Hemisphere. There they created an English colonial society. Their society held strong religious beliefs. These beliefs were what formed the basis of their education, that was developing. The learning and studying of religion was the first step in achieving education. (Rury, 25-31)
