On May of 1787 men from twelve states meet to revise the Articles of Confederation.

They found it impossible to revise, instead they created a whole new document that would include a way for the new goverment to have a system of checks and balances, Sept 17,1787 the final draft of the Contitution of The United States was read, but it was not until June 21,1788 nine months later after revisions where made that it went into effect.
