This walking machine only lasted a while until it went out of style.

This machine went right out of style because seeing as it would only work well on well groomed paths like in a garden or park. It was made entirely made of wood and as the person riding it was walking, it looked as if they were half gliding across the ground. It was also known as the velocipede.
