HIV/AIDS
1959- A blood sample was taken in Central Africa.
1969- A 15 year old from St. Louis was a victim of the first confired case of HIV/AIDS.
1981- The first cases of AIDS was reported in the United States.
1981- Two men with Pneumocytis might have contributed to HIV virus.
1982- A total of of 452 cases from 23 states had been announced to the CDC.
1987- ACT UP (AIDS Coalition to Unleash Power), a non- partisan group was first set up in New York City.
1988- The first World AIDS day begins December 1st.
1998- The company AIDSvax started the first human trial of an AIDS vaccine using 5000 volunteers.
2003- South Africa approved of free antiretrovial drugs in public hospitals.
2006- People who were 13 years and older were infected with the AIDS virus.
