     The design of today’s rockets are the result of thousands of years of experimentation and research. Beginning 2000 years ago as a steam-powered toy, rockets have evolved into sophisticated vehicles capable of launching spacecraft into the solar system. But how many of us realldy do know the beginnings of rocketry? This timeline focuses on just that, and goes up to the beginning of the space race.
