In 2010 the ISC celebrates its 50th anniversary and salutes the founder, sculptor and educator Elden Tefft, who guided the organization through its early stages and who remains an inspiring figure for the ISC's membership and staff. In 1960, Tefft organized the National Sculpture Conference at the University of Kansas, in Lawrence, Kansas, and with that conference the International Sculpture Center was born.
