Technological Advancements in Medicine
Many great strides have been made in medicine. From the ages of Egyptians embalming bodies to the silicone breast, medical history has shifted humans quality of life. As the field of medicine can cover many aspects, I have focused on main events which have greatly aided in general practice, virology, surgery and the basic functions of the human body. These aspect of medicine individually cover a wide spectrum. If it were not for the discovery of blood transfusions, hundreds of thousands of lives could be lost daily. Knowing how to identify smallpox and seeking a treatment, eventually lead to a vaccination and almost extinction of such a deadly viruses. If it were not for the study of anesthesia surgery and even a basic suturing of a wound, would be incredibly painful and barabic. These little steps over several centuries have lead to a better understanding in our human biology and ways to improve our lives and our understanding in how we are physically comprised.
