Antebellum Era
Many factors contributed to the origins of the Civial War. Some of these factors include economic disputes, territorial conflicts, political confusion and division between the pro-slavery South and free North. I have focused the majority of my timeline on the political and social impacts caused by the differing opinions regarding slavery during the Antebellum Years of 1820-1860. The slavery debate was so intense that it affected every aspect of political, social and economic life in the United States during these years. Not only did the debate cause violent conflict, but also emotional, as many people defended their given opinions personally. The events I have placed in this timeline represent what I believe to be some of the most important events during the Antebellum Years.
