technologcial advancements in agriculture
Throughout history technological advances have had a major impact on agriculture. Early farmers improved their crop production by inventing the hoe and today farmers improve their farming by global positioning systems (GPS). In the early years advancement was shared by word of mouth. Families have taught their children and was passed on from generation to generation. Neighboring tribes exchanged ideas with each other and also with new settlers. In 1870 transportation had expanded greatly with the completion of rail lines across the states and this made it easier for farmers to market their crops. The advancement from the horse drawn machinery to tractors was a big advancement in farmers production. From there it has advanced to multiple row combines, corn planters, etc. Overall covering more ground to plant and harvest and over the years has shown how much one farmer can produce food for more people with these advances in technology.
