If it were up to me I would say that Motown Records has been one of the most successful record labels in history.  Berry Gordy, started his own label Tamla Records which later turned into Motown Records and it became an instant success.  This timeline will chart how one man's dreams turned into a musical empire.  This timeline will also follow the legendary artists that emerged from the label and how the sound and style of the label's music have changed through time.
