The timeline shown is an overview of just a few things invented in the middle ages.  Many of these inventions changed culture and life as we know it.  Many inventions in the early times of the middle ages paved the ways for further inventions of a product.  After the raiding eras there was a giant boom in industy and culture because of population increase.  Many of these items are still in use today, but are better and redefined.
