Olympisch vuur

Studenten van de Academie van Bouwkunst Rotterdam en het Berlage Instituut onderzochten in samenwerking met het Rotterdamse architectenbureau MVRDV gedurende twee jaar de haalbaarheid en de ruimtelijke kansen als Nederland in 2028 de Olympische spelen zouden organiseren. Zij koppelen thema's als klimaatverandering, waterhuishouding en energiewinning op diverse manieren aan oplossingen voor stadions, infrastructuur en atletenhuisvesting. De studies resulteerden in verschillende scenario's voor Olympische Spelen in Nederland in 2028, én in inventieve ontwerpen voor stadions van de toekomst. Het NAi presenteert de resultaten van de onderzoeken met film en animaties en toont de maquettes van de stadions van de toekomst in een in de zaal gebouwde arena die plaats biedt aan 150 bezoekers.

Olympic fire

Students from the Academy of Architecture Rotterdam and the Berlage Institute, in collaboration with the MVRDV firm of architects in Rotterdam, investigated the feasibility and the spatial chances of the 2028 Olympic Games in the Netherlands. They linked such themes as climate change, water management and energy production in various ways with solutions for stadiums, infrastructure and accommodation for athletes. The studies resulted in different scenarios for the Olympic Games in the Netherlands in 2028. The NAi presents the scenarios with film, animation, theatre and debate and displays the scale models of Olympic stadiums of the future in an arena in the gallery that has seats for 150 visitors.
